This 3-day course provides a practical introduction to developing rich Internet applications using ASP.NET AJAX and C#®. Because of the rich support provided by Microsoft's® AJAX tools, an ASP.NET programmer can get up and running in this new environment quickly. Instructor kit includes an email with instructions to download presentation slides.


The course begins with a discussion of rich Internet applications, which include substantial client-side code, typically JavaScript™. Microsoft's® AJAX tools are surveyed, and a simple AJAX application is illustrated. Students then learn about the AJAX Client Library, partial page rendering, remote-method calls, the AJAX Control Toolkit, and built-in application services. This course is current to ASP.NET 3.5 and Visual Studio® 2008.

    Prerequisites A good working knowledge of Web application development using ASP.NET, Visual Studio, and C#. The student should have a basic knowledge of HTML. Exposure to JavaScript and a basic knowledge of ADO.NET would be helpful but are not required.
